Passionate Christians, Friends in World Change, One Movement

When we talk about living//PC what we are really saying is that we are choosing to find life change everyday by reaching out to others and sharing the life change that Jesus has done in us. Wed we premiered the PURE_2nd Chance movement. People with powerful stories of transformation and huge life change through the HOPE Jesus and the help of community...so powerful...cant wait to share the rest of the stories in the coming weeks!

Yesterday i had a day full of time spent with people who are committed to this movement...Here at PURE, planning for ways to make a bigger impact through life change...World Changers for sure...and the best part, they are all believing for life change to take place not just at PURE but also praying, believing and dreaming of ways to work with other ministries that are living for huge life change. Its a blessing to have people like Danny Sinner, Jason Prod, Leslie Hurlbert, Brandon Merklebach, and Mark Abate to partner with...what an amazing group of people to spend a day with!!

With all my heart I beleive that the only way for us to succeed in changing this generation is to do it together...that was Jesus plan not mine, Tony Wood's or any other NxtGen leader...It really is my heart to not go alone...I wont! Jesus is calling us into community...intimate relationship with one another to live out the reality of Hope, 2nd chances, radical grace, and world change.

So much response from so many of you last night...I love it...My phone didnt stop till 1 am!! What an amazing thing to think that people in our Gen are actually buying off that we can and should live out the Scriptures they way that they are written...in an authentic way that embodies the self evident truth of each and every page...

ok enough with the emotional stuff, even though it is the highlight of my week when i see you guys respond, and on to more meaningful things...like Miley Cyrus being voted the worst Celeb Influence of 2009...I am totally not ok with that...Some of you know my good friend Pastor Tony Wood @ Generate...We have this strange mutual affection for miss 'Hannah Montana.' See Tony's thoughts here I will deal with the ridicule later, just read the article...

On that note...come hang out with us at Trunk or Treat on Sat from 5:30 pm - 9:30pm and help some of the 10k people that will be here on campus have a safe Halloween...and yes you can dress up..,.

'hey Shane! just giving you a heads up,! there's a movement going on right down the street from WOL at a little 'ol place called Starbucks. 2 partners of mine and i fasted for 3 days for our workplace and instantly we saw change! our partners are asking about god, a few are going with us, we're also bringing a customer with us. today my partner who is known for partying and drinking asked if i would fast with her next week. I'm sitting at work during my lunch right now and i am in awe, im see a movement happen right before me. i believe this is the just the beginning of something big! just wanted to share like always haha. see you tonight'


'Hey Shane, I meant to tell you and I don't think I told u this yet...But i don't want to work anymore. I just want to live for God and have everything I do be for Him. I want to be @ church all the time! Work at church and not necessarily 4 pay:) I'm constantly thinking how were going to change the world. I feel I don't have time to work at the job I have. I cant even concentrate when I am there anymore!'

Why are they PC's? They are living in the power, presence, and person of the Holy Spirit and sharing the hope they found...

PURE_Second Chance

I have sat down 3 times to write this blog...no interruptions, here we go...Tonight and for the next few weeks we are going to get to experience the lives and stories of 3 PC's. 3 Passionate Christians who are living examples of Jesus using community to bring HOPE...3 people who's lives are filled with the power, presence, and person of the Holy Spirit...3 people who are passionate about prayer, worship, the word, service and God using them to change the world around them...3 People who are living Passionate Christianity because of their individual experiences that each involved other people believing for them...and because of it...they are PURE_Second Chance World Changers...

I Heart Night

I love the chatter and all of you who have sent Facebook and Twitter messages about who you are inviting and why! A few of you missed the last couple weeks I thought it would be great to share why tomorrow is happening...

'I heart night' is for one reason and one reason alone, to give you a chance to invite your friends to night that will give them a chance to experience and learn about Jesus and his hope. So many of you do this every week, but what an opportunity to live out a PC life...We have given you every reason to invite someone...A mom, a dad, sister, brother, or friend...tomorrow night your families and friends will have a chance to encounter Jesus in a place that expresses love first...

Remember what Jesus said 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul...and love your neighbor as yourself.' Heres your chance to do just that on a huge scale...cant wait to hear the stories about your 'I heart' invites and their experiences with Jesus...

Hearts Meeting Jesus

Tonight 2 people committed their hearts to Jesus for the first time...while considering that fact that we have had many more than 2 in the past, it was impressed on my heart to celebrate those 2...2!! that is huge...2 people will spend eternity worshiping in the throne room of heaven...If youre like me you dont always stop and realize the implication of a single person raising their hand and saying 'today is my day'!!

Not only did Jesus take their hearts tonight, He started taking all their stuff too!! The stuff that until tonight was rotting their heart and after tonight it will no longer have a grip on their life....Jesus is freeing their hearts from the pain and suffering that once owned and condemned them...

PC's unite, unite knowing that you and I can change this world, that we are changing this world...one heart and one life at a time. may this be our cause...

'To share the hope of Jesus through love, by taking the risk to introduce people to him...'

Without looking back or appologizing we will change the world..Who's with me? Because none of us can go alone! I heart night is here how will you live out boldness?

Responding...The call of a PC

Most of us have had a moment with Jesus where He provokes us, stronger than a FB 'poke' or a Twitter 'nuge', to action. My story isnt exactly marked with grand 'PC' like responses when Jesus provoked me...in fact there are seasons of my life that looked more like Moses and the Hebrew people wandering through a dry, hot, lonely, hopeless desert. All i can say is thank God for radical grace and second chances!!

Every week we see people respond to Jesus' nudging, its a powerful thing...God is moving people to become 'Second Chance PC's' and they are radically responding. Just a few weeks ago 28 people committed their lives to pursuing full time ministry. What an amazing thing...

'Waiting on the World to Change' has been GenY's anthem for a while now...what would happen if we looked at responding to Jesus in a different light? One that realizes that we cant do this life alone...first we need the power, presence, and person of the Holy Spirit as our life force, and then recognize our basic need for community...

PC's our call is to respond...not to wait...our call 'change the world with LOVE through Jesus.' What is your response? I know what your first response can be...come tonight passionately expecting to worship a HUGE GOD that loves us and wants intimacy with us no matter what we've done...

PC stay passionate about the Holy Spirit, Prayer, Worship, Tithing, and the Word...

The Heart

Tonight we will be talking about this idea of the 'heart,' no prob wont be another cow heart for me to play with but this will have something to do with this...



How? you will have to come and see...but i can promise you that tonight will be unlike any service we have ever done...everyone will walk away with a new 'heart.'

Love...in action

I told you guys last night how much i love your stories...Got this one just a few minutes ago from one of our PURE family Starbux barista's...enjoy...


-"hey! so this morning at work (Starbucks) there was a homeless man sitting on the planter outside of my store, normally we ask homeless people to leave but the planter is not our property so left him alone. i watched him sitting outside in the wind holding his "hungry" sign and very few people even noticed him and a couple people just gave him money. i kept thinking, why do they keep giving him money? thats not going to help! then i laughed at myself for getting so annoyed with other people who were at least trying while i just sat and watched so i bought one of our warm breakfast sandwiches and asked my co worker daniel to go outside with me.we walked up to the man and asked how he was, he said he could be doing better so i told him sorry i couldnt do more but heres a sanwich and also i gave him a WOL card and said if he needed anything else the church would be there to help him. he was so excited and greatful! he just kept saying "wow! thank u! God bless u guys!" we started to talk and he started telling me about his life and why he was on the street and the hurt he has from loosing his father. so i pulled him to the side and asked if i could pray for him, again super excited he said it was cool so i began to pray for him and daniel agreed and
he feel to his knees with his hands raised and was just saying "yes father, yes father". he admitted to be drunk and he was a little dramatic but i believe a seed was planted. he gave us a huge hug and was so grateful! he swore he was going to be better! AND THEN, if all that wasnt cool enough...we didnt know but the rest of our team saw it all go down so it got everyones hearts stirring. my partners started to ask questions. i think because of the love daniel and i showed for kevin (the homeless man), our partners were more open to us because they saw Gods love. it was reallly
cool!!! anyway just wanted to share with u. just my everyday life, everday people, right here in fontana, sharing Gods love."-

It continually moves my heart to tears when I hear about you guys living//PC...praise God! Love=Passionate Christianity=PC= World Change
